1 Timothy 2:1-2 tells us to pray for kings and all those in authority.  A key part of this is praying for “God-endorsed” people to become leaders.  Dick Simmons used to tell us that we need to "pray-in" righteous government leaders, at all levels.  This is the time to rise up and take action to change our government according to God’s will and for His kingdom.  Now is the time to pray for those running for office, particularly Congress.

• Pray that God will call born-again, Sprit-filled believers in Jesus Christ to run for political office, who will pray and seek God’s will in every decision, and who will remain true to their faith no matter the opposition.

• Pray especially for first-time candidates who stand for truth, righteousness and justice according to the Lord’s commandments and laws.

• Pray that they would seek the endorsement of God first, that the Lord would give them the path to positions of authority, and that they would stand for God’s kingdom and principles.

• Pray that they would connect with individuals and groups that can endorse them and provide funding for their campaigns.

• Pray for favor, open doors, and divine appointments.

• Pray the Lord would anoint their words as they seek and gather support.

• Pray for supernatural protection and provision.

• Pray for godly staff members and advisors.

• Pray for favor and support of voters.
